Counselling for Eating Disorders & Obesity

Eating disorders are complex and deeply personal struggles that affect both mental and physical health. Whether you or a loved one are dealing with binge eating, anorexia, bulimia, orthorexia, disordered eating patterns or obesity, professional support can be life changing. My counselling services are designed to provide compassionate help to support recovery and create a healthier relationship with food and body image.

My approach is grounded in the National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCFED) Master Practitioner Programme, a leading qualification in the field that integrates the latest research, therapeutic techniques and a person-centred approach to treatment. I will draw on this comprehensive training together my own lived experience of an eating disorder and my skills as a counsellor to provide you with specialised support based on your individual needs.

Therapy for your personal eating issues

Every person’s experience with disordered eating is unique. Our sessions together will be tailored to address your specific struggles, helping you understand the root causes of your relationship with food and body image. Through providing a supportive and non-judgmental environment, my aim is to empower you to take meaningful steps toward recovery.

Evidence-based techniques

My counselling services incorporate a range of evidence-based methods, including:

Schema therapy & trauma-informed care – Addressing deeper emotional wounds that may contribute to disordered eating.I often find that my work is based on helping people to change their story. Whether it is the story they tell themselves, the story they are portraying to others or the story they’d like to live but just don’t know how to.

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) – A structured approach to challenge negative thought patterns and behaviours related to food and body image.

Nutritional psychoeducation – Helping you develop a balanced and mindful approach to food without fear or guilt.

Mindfulness and self-compassion strategies – Supporting emotional regulation and self-acceptance.

Motivational enhancement therapy – Strengthening your commitment to recovery by exploring personal values and goals.

Support at every stage of recovery

Whether you are just beginning to acknowledge an eating disorder, in active recovery or struggling with relapse, I can provide support at every stage. My counselling is designed to help you build sustainable coping mechanisms, improve self-esteem and foster a healthier self-image.

I can offer support to adults of all ages struggling with:
